ASUS announces latest hybrid for UAE market [ITP.net (United Arab Emirates)]

(ITP.net (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ASUS this week announced its Transformer Book T300, a 13.3-inch laptop with a detachable Full HD display that can be used as a standalone Windows 8 tablet.

Transformer Book is powered by a fourth-generation Intel Core processor and is said to offer "outstanding energy efficiency", with up to eight hours of battery life, according to ASUS.

The T300 features a 13.3-inch tablet display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, while IPS technology is aimed at delivering 178-degree viewing angles and daylight visibility. The device also features multi-touch digitiser technology that detects a 6mm contact point, rather than the 9mm recommended by Microsoft for Windows 8.

"The result is a 10-point multi-touch display with high-precision input that's perfect for the kind of fine fingertip control required by everything from spreadsheets to creative applications," boasted ASUS in a statement.

The tablet display is 11.5mm and comes with built-in USB 3.0, a micro-HDMI port and an LED battery charge indicator. The keyboard dock is slightly thinner than the tablet at 11mm, and has a compact magnetic dock connector that releases and snaps to the tablet display. The dock features a full-size keyboard with backlit keys and a large multi-touch touchpad with Windows 8 gesture support.

Also included is a front 720p HD camera and a rear 1080p Full HD camera, plus stereo speakers powered by ASUS SonicMaster audio technology.

The ASUS Transformer Book T300 retails for AED 4999 (i5) and AED 5999 (i7) at Sharaf DG and Virgin Megastores in Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.
