HRH Crown Prince receives newly appointed CEO of Bahrain Petroleum Company [Bahrain News Agency](Bahrain News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Manama, Feb 4 (BNA) -- His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister received the newly appointed CEO of Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Dr. Peter Bartlett at Gudaibiya Palace today. His Royal Highness began the meeting by welcoming Dr. Bartlett's appointment as CEO of BAPCO, praising his long career in the oil industry, which included many years at Chevron. His Royal Highness further emphasised the longstanding links between Chevron and the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the oil industry has developed. In discussing the significance of the oil sector to Bahrain's economy, His Royal Highness stressed the importance of its continued development, including strategies that will help increase oil production. His Royal Highness added that developing the oil industry sector supports other large-scale projects and have a positive knock-on effect for the wider economy. His Royal Highness also gave recognition to the Bahraini staff working in the oil industry sector, in particular the management personnel at BAPCO. His Royal Highness concluded by wishing Dr. Bartlett long success in his new role. Also attending the meeting was Finance Minister His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
