BRIEF: High Point Regional names Ernie Bovio as new CEO [News & Record, Greensboro, N.C. :: ]


(News & Record (Greensboro, NC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 21--HIGH POINT -- High Point Regional has appointed a new president and CEO, according to its website.

Ernie Bovio will succeed Jeff Miller, who officially retires on March 31, after 26 years, the hospital's board of trustees announced Friday.

Bovio will begin serving as CEO in early May, according to the announcement. He has served as CEO with Baylor, Scott & White Health for the past nine years, overseeing three hospitals and 22 clinics in the Hill Country and Round Rock regions in Texas.



Bovio holds a master's of healthcare administration and business administration from the University of Houston and a bachelor of arts in history from Texas A&M University, according to the announcement.

Bovio and his wife Holly have four children.


In April, High Point Regional became part of the UNC Health Care System. UNC Health Care has more than 20,000 employees and serves patients throughout North Carolina and surrounding states.
