City webinar planned for independent artists [Telegraph-Herald (Dubuque, IA)]


(Telegraph-Herald (Dubuque, IA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The City of Dubuque and the Arts and Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission will host a webinar for independent artists titled "Building Arts Marketing Skills for Independent Artists" at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, in Conference Room B at City Hall.



The webinar is free and open to the public.

It will address essential questions about the marketplace, such as how to find new buyers, how to identify a target market, identifying emerging or new markets and how artists can stand out among their competition.


The webinar will delve into marketing strategies designed to help artists position themselves and their art for greater success.

It will be presented by Deborah Obalil, executive director of Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design in Providence, R.I. The webinar will be presented in cooperation with Americans for the Arts, the nation's largest arts advocacy organization.
