Dental Educators Convene in San Antonio for the 2014 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition

SAN ANTONIO --(Business Wire)--

Dental educators, administrators, students, residents, fellows and industry experts are convening March 15-18 in San Antonio, TX, for the 2014 American Dental Education Association (ADEA) 91st Annual Session & Exhibition. More than 2,200 attendees will fill the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center for four days of plenary sessions with world-renowned presenters, thought-provoking faculty development workshops and award presentations, including the prestigious 2014 William J. Gies Awards for Vision, Innovation and Achievement.

The 2014 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition will offer more than 100 engaging sessions around the theme "The Science of Learning," more than 60 of dental education's premier partners and solutions providers and keynote appearances from Nina Godiwalla, M.B.A.; Neuroscientist David Eagleman; Van Jones, J.D. and Rishi Desai, M.D.

The Opening Plenary at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 16, featuring Dr. Eagleman, author of The New York Times bestseller Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain, navigates the depths of the subconscious brain to illuminate its surprising mysteries, prompting audiences to celebrate how much and how joyously little is known about our conscious selves and our reality.

"This year's theme brings into sharp focus our understanding of how the brain works and the implication for the ways we teach," sas Stephen K. Young, D.D.S., M.S., Chair of the ADEA Board of Directors. "By challenging ourselves, we will continue to raise the quality and consistency of our profession by striving to understand how the brain learns and how we can use that knowledge to provide our students with the best dental education possible."

Media representatives are invited to attend, and photos will be available upon request following the conclusion of the event.

In 2015, the ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition moves to Boston, MA. The theme of next year's event, scheduled for March 7-10, is "Igniting Minds and Unlocking Potential." For more information and details on how to submit a program, visit www.adea.org/Program2015.
