DSP Group, ProSyst and Rockethome Introduce End-to-End ULE-Based Home Automation and Security Platform

(GlobeNewswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LOS ALTOS, Calif., March 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DSP Group (Nasdaq:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, ProSyst, a leading provider of OSGi and open standards-based IoT middleware for Smart Home, Smart Energy and other vertical markets, and Rockethome, a leading provider of home energy management and end-to-end smart home solutions in Europe, announced today that the three companies have further enhanced and strengthened their ongoing collaboration. The partners will integrate Rockethome's standard Smart Home Plug & Play solution with the existing jointly-developed solution comprising DSP Group's ULE solution for home automation and control and ProSyst's mBS OSGi technology. The new cloud and OSGi-based Internet of Things (IoT) solution will boast unprecedented reach, providing an all-around-solution for home automation and security from node to cloud and reducing overall time-to-market for operators and service providers.

The jointly-developed solution combines DSP Group's dedicated ULE DHX91 SoC and ULE stack - which can be integrated into multiple types of battery-operated nodes, such as smoke and motion detectors, as well as power devices like AC sockets - and DSP Group's DCX81 SoC on the gateway/concentrator, which provides ULE and DECT telephony stacks. ProSyst's mBS OSGi technology is integrated in the gateway, providing local management and easy connectivity to the service provider, and Rockethome's cloud management solution provides a sophisticated yet straightforward user interface with in-house devices via a user-friendly web portal or smartphone application.

The collaboration will deliver fast time to market, while minimizing operator or service provider R&D efforts to bring robust end-to-end service to subscribers.

"We are delighted to partner with DSP Group and ProSyst to bring a comprehensive, whole-home automation solution based on ULE to market," said Yüksel Sirmasac, CEO at Rockethome. "We will contribute our next generation home automation software with a lot of new features like alerts, scenes, logic, time control and big data algorithms. The Rockethome apps upgrade the joint platform with one of the best user experiences in the market," he continued.

"Our OSGi environment acts as an 'in between' layer on the gateway, addressing DSP Group's ULE solution from 'below' while presenting a technology-agnostic API to our local management logic and Rockethome's cloud management," said Daniel Schellhoss, Executive VP at ProSyst. "Integrating ULE and simplified 'upper layer' cloud and local management into our product portfolio provides a hybrid multi-technology solution. We are happy to help with our IoT platform and backend capabilities to turn smart devices from novelties into something that truly changes ways of living," he concluded.

"DSP Group works to constantly grow ULE market awareness. Our collaboration with ProSyst and Rockethome in the home automation and control ecosystem will extend the reach of ULE beyond the gateway and into the cloud," said Raz Kivelevich-Carmi, Director of Marketing and Business Development at DSP Group. "The OSGi framework, coupled with a robust cloud management application, creates a compelling home automation and security services solution that operators can rapidly bring to market," he continued.
