The company has acquired possession of three acre of land identified at Bampada industrial area in Balasore, from Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO). The memorandum of understanding with the state government on the STPI centre is likely to be signed after the urban polls. The state government is required to provide 10,000 sq ft built up space, three acre of land and Rs one crore as grant in aid as the state%s contribution for setting up the centre. Meanwhile, the state government had already allocated Rs three crore in the state%s budget for 2012-13; Rs one crore as state%s contribution; and Rs two crore for additional infrastructure. The new Balasore STPI centre, proposed by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY), is the fourth centre in the state after Bhubaneswar, Rourkela and Berhampur. Balasore unit will act as a resource centre for information technology (IT) and IT enabled services (ITES) exporting units by offering incubation space and high speed data communication (HSDC) with uninterrupted connectivity. The centre would facilitate and support entrepreneurs of the region to explore global opportunity in IT and ITES. Till completion, it would start from North Odisha Chamber of Commerce and Industry office.
