BRIEF: Longtime Miami Dolphins PR executive Harvey Greene gets new post with team [The Miami Herald :: ]

(Miami Herald (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 08--Longtime Miami Dolphins public relations executive Harvey Greene -- who handled the team's media relations during the transition from Don Shula to Jimmy Johnson, during Nick Saban's two-year tenure and during the team's 2013 bullying scandal -- announced Friday he is becoming the Dolphins' vice president of historical affairs, a newly created position.

"The organization is making a concerted effort to make our unique tradition and history a more meaningful complement to our current team and its fans, and my new responsibilities will entail developing major initiatives to continue that process," said Greene, who had been the Dolphins' chief publicist since 1989.

Jason Jenkins replaces Greene as the team's top media relations executive -- a job Jenkins already had been handling the past couple of months.

--Teams can begin speaking to the agents of other teams' free agents at noon Saturday but cannot sign players from other teams until 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Dolphins are expected to reach out to agents of several offensive linemen this weekend, with Baltimore left tackle Eugene Monroe among their top targets.
