EDITORIAL: Another ObamaCare crock? HealthCare.hackers [The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review :: ]

(Pittsburgh Tribune-Review (PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Feb. 08--U.S. intelligence agencies have warned the Department of Health and Human Services that hackers linked to the government of Belarus helped develop and could have inserted malicious code for cyberattacks. Which, of course, raises the question of just how stupid ObamaCare officials really are.

With Belarus being a former Soviet republic allied with Russia and ruled by an anti-American dictator, those suspicions must be taken seriously. The Washington Times reports state-controlled Belarusian networks were implicated last year in a massive, covert hijacking of U.S. Internet traffic. Concerns over the website were prompted by a Belarusian technology official saying Belarus was "helping Obama complete his insurance reform" and calling HHS "one of our clients" in a Russian radio interview.

Surprised by all this -- especially because an ObamaCare official told Congress all software work was done domestically -- Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, urges an independent security review.

HHS and its main contractor aren't saying much. But a National Security Council spokeswoman says the intelligence warnings were rescinded quickly and an HHS security review has yet to find evidence of Belarus-developed software.

Such evidence would be grave indeed, forcing the Obama administration to explain stupidity so stunning as letting a hostile nation develop ObamaCare programming and lying to Congress about it.
