Paper Deadline Extended for IEEE Computer Society Premiere Conference COMPSAC 2014

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., Jan. 29 -- The IEEE Computer Society issued the following news release: Papers are being accepted until 7 February for the 38th Annual IEEE International Computers, Software, and Applications Conference (COMPSAC), which will take place in Vasterls, Sweden from 21-25 July.

COMPSAC, one of IEEE Computer Society's premiere conferences, provides an international forum to network with academic, industry, and government computing professionals from around the world. The conference provides an opportunity to discuss the latest research results and future trends in computer and software technologies and applications with: * Keynote addresses from the world's leading researchers * Research papers and industrial case study presentations * Panel discussions and fast abstracts * A doctoral symposium and poster sessions, and * Nearly two dozen workshops on emerging topics.

The theme of this year's conference is The Integration of Heterogeneous and Mobile Services in Smart Environments. Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research work, as well as industrial practice reports. Although the abstract deadline has already passed, full papers are being accepted until 7 February.

Suitable subjects for papers include: * Emergent Topics * Software Engineering * Networking * Web Technologies * Security and Privacy * Quality Assurance and Assessment, and * Embedded and Cyber-Physical Environments.

The emergence and increasing importance of digital society, cyber-physical systems, and semantic, pervasive, and mobile computing are expanding the role of software and applications in smart environments. Associated with these paradigms are instruments, sensors, and applications that generate and require analysis of massive volumes of diverse, heterogeneous, complex, and distributed data. The potential of the emerging electric smart grid motivates developing systems designed with smart grid capabilities foremost in mind.
