Pyng Medical Launches New Sternal IO & Pelvic Stabilization Devices at the EMS Today Tradeshow

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/29/14 -- Pyng Medical Corp. (TSX VENTURE: PYT), an award-winning developer of trauma and resuscitation products for emergency, combat and critical care personnel, announces it will launch two new products specifically designed for the emergency medical services market at the EMS Today Tradeshow taking place February 6-8, 2014 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Centre in Washington, DC. The new devices launching are: -- FASTResponderâ„¢ Sternal Intraosseous (IO) Device -- T-PODResponderâ„¢ Pelvic Stabilization Device The EMS Today Tradeshow typically attracts more than 4,200 attendees, including key decision makers in emergency medical services, a key new market for Pyng Medical. Both the FASTResponder and T-PODResponder products were accepted as entries for best new product in the EMS Today Hot Products competition. The winner will be announced following the show. In addition, the FASTResponder product will be featured in the New Product Showcase.

The two new products will enable Pyng to expand beyond the military and combat market, to meet the specific needs and compete in both the civilian pre-hospital and hospital markets. "For years, Pyng has provided sternal intraosseous and pelvic stabilization solutions to military & combat personnel," explains Mark Hodge, President and CEO of Pyng. "We're excited to launch two completely customized and new solutions to meet the specific needs of pre-hospital and hospital personnel." The new FASTResponder Sternal Intraosseous Device enables emergency care providers to easily establish vascular access when peripheral intravenous access fails. With a lightweight and compact all-in-one design featuring automatic depth control, FASTResponder does not require batteries, drilling or pins, unlike other intraosseous devices. This makes the device as easy to learn and fail-safe as possible, a primary need in the civilian market.

The new T-PODResponder Pelvic Stabilization Device provides the critical ability for a single emergency responder to easily stabilize the pelvic region in the field. The new device is compact and highly portable, and uses a unique pulley system to enable symmetrical and circumferential compression. With no metal used, T-PODResponder does not have to be removed and reapplied for important radiological scans, such as X-Ray, MRI and CT scans.
