Use renewable energy to increase profit [DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India)]

(DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) "The industries should use renewable energy resources in manufacturing of goods to reduce the production cost, said VK Srivastava, Additional Director, Research & Development, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA).

Speaking as the chief guest in a one day technical seminar on 'energy efficiency in pharmaceutical sector, he said, "With the conventional energy resources depleting day by day, industries especially pharmaceutical sector should conserve more energy. Renewable energies like wind and solar energy should be used as it will greatly help them to increase their profit".

Guest of honour, director of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr DS Mandloi said, "To stand in the global competition the industries need to use new and advanced technologies to conserve energy. If the industries can cut-down the energy costs even by 2%, it will have a huge impact in cutting down the production costs and further increase the production".

He also urged the pharmaceutical industries to focus more on innovative technologies to enhance the energy consumption.

Earlier during the occasion the dignitaries released a hand book on 'energy efficiency in pharma sector' having various case studies of PCRA's energy efficiency services in the pharmaceutical sector of the country.
