Egypt's mobile subscriptions up 0.7% q/q, internet users rise 3.3% q/q in Q3 2013 [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports](IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The number of mobile subscriptions increased 0.72% q/q to 97.47mn in Q3 (July-September) 2013 raising the penetration rate by 0.29% q/q to 116.09% of Egypt's total population, reported the quarterly bulletin of the Ministry of Communications and IT. The total number of internet users grew 3.31% q/q to 37.14mn with the internet penetration rate reaching 44.23%. Proportion of internet broadband users was about 91.73% of total internet users in Q3 2013 compared to 90.23% of total internet users in Q3 2012 with the balance made-up of internet narrowband users. In Q3 2013, the proportion of businesses that are using the computer reached 74%, while the proportion of businesses with access to the internet hit 54%. The proportion of businesses that interact with the e-government reached 27%, while those who interact with e-commerce reached 13%.
