The Pirate Bay Shares Details of 'Perfectly Legal' Pirate Browser [Legal Monitor Worldwide]

(Legal Monitor Worldwide Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Pirate Bay spent a pretty sizeable chunk of 2013 on the run, darting from one domain to the next only to dart back again and then do another runner. All the while however, the team behind the controversial torrent indexation service has been working on a permanent solution ongoing domain and IP problems, which that have stated will eventually make domain names irrelevant.

It was back in December that The Pirate  Bay first spoke if its new Pirate Browser, hailing it a "perfectly legal piece of browser software and the rest of it will be P2P, with no central point to attack via the legal system". Compelling indeed, but no further details were offered as to the nature or status of the project in terms of when Pirate Browser might see the light of day.

Well, a new interview coined by the folks at TorrentFreak has thrown a bone our way, detailing a few more of the specifics in terms of how Pirate Browser might work. The long and short of TPB's intent is to create a system of locally shared data and downloadable indexation packages, which in turn means that no central server need be used.

"The goal is to create a browser-like client to circumvent censorship, including domain blocking, domain confiscation, IP-blocking," said the Pirate Bay source.

"This will be accomplished by sharing all of a site's indexed data as P2P downloadable packages, that are then browsed/rendered locally" No further information has yet been shared as to potential launch dates for the Pirate Browser platform, though realistically it could be a fair few weeks or months until a fully stable build begins doing the rounds.  (c) 2014 Legal Monitor Worldwide.
