11th International conference 'FIT 2013' commences


(Baluchistan Express, The Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A 3-day 11th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT) commenced here today with the objective to provide a platform for engineers, academicians, scientists, industrial professionals and researchers from over the world to present the result of their research activities in the field of Information technology and Technological innovation.



COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, CIIT, is organizing the event, from Dec 16-18, in collaboration with IEEE Islamabad Chapter, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, and IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Scalable Computing.

Professor Dr Elisa Bertino, Perdue University USA was the Key Note speaker who talked about “Challenges and opportunities with big data”.


She said Information Technology has played a vital role in the past few decades and reshaped social standards among human beings.

While addressing, Faculty members of CIIT said FIT 2013 will provide opportunities for the delegates to share the knowledge, ideas, innovations and problem solving techniques.

On the occasion, Usman Javed from Vodafone group gave presentation on “SG Mobile Networks in the making, prospects and challenges”, while Tariq Jadoon from LUMS presented survey on “LED-based indoor positioning”.

The extended version of the selected papers will be published in selected journals. The focus areas include Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Communication and Networking, Scalable Computing, Embedded systems, Smart Grids, Distributed and Grid Computing, Green Technologies and Signal Processing.

International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology has emerged as a leading forum in Pakistan for IT professionals and researchers to discuss and present the latest research trends and results in the field of Information Technology.

Besides oral presentation of technical papers and tutorials, talks of renowned international and national speakers from leading universities were also part of the programme.
