Willie III as chief executive officer and a member of the company’s board of directors. Mr. Willie will assume his position effective November 4, 2013. Mr. Willie succeeds Kevin Kushman, who has served as CEO since 2010 and will remain on the company’s board and as a strategic advisor. Mr. Willie, a native of Indianapolis, was most recently CEO of Current Group, from 2011 until its 2013 acquisition by Ormazabal, a subsidiary of Spanish infrastructure firm Velatia. Mr. Willie had served as CURRENT’s Chief Product Officer and its Chief Operating Officer since December 2003. He also served as the Vice President/Vice Chairman of PRIME Alliance AISBL, a nonprofit industry trade group focused on the development of a new open, public and non-proprietary smart metering and smart grid communications solution. CURRENT, Mr. Willie served as Vice President and General Manager of Siemens/Efficient Networks, which he joined pre-revenue and helped expand to over $250 million in annual revenue and over 150 employees. At Efficient Networks, he was responsible for setting group direction and product strategy, leading product management and development efforts, and overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the business. Prior to his role at Siemens, he held strategic worldwide marketing management positions at Texas Instruments and National Semiconductor. Tom Willie was recently name as one of the 50 Smart Grid Pioneers of 2013 by Smart Grid Today. Mr. Willie obtained his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in Indianapolis.
