Powerit Solutions' Spara Demand Diagnostics Reveals Energy Savings Potential

SEATTLE --(Business Wire)--

Powerit Solutions' latest version of its demand management cloud product, Spara Hub™, features an upgraded analytics and reporting application that allows Powerit partners and customers to determine potential energy savings.

Spara Demand Diagnostics™ gathers energy data from onsite metering sent to Spara Hub, and then uses that data to simulate demand control actions and results. (See an illustration of how it works.) The application easily diagnoses problems caused by usage peaks and price spikes, uncovers load-shifting opportunities, and shows the potential savings achievable through advanced demand management.

Demand Diagnostics integrates with energy monitoring and reporting platforms, and is available as a stand-alone service. Energy managers, energy consulting companies, and energy services firms can use the application to evaluate electrical demand peaks and analyze a facility's energy profile to estimate potential savings.

"Demand Diagnostics draws on our real-world demand management experience to provide a clear picture of full-facility energy demand-not just energy consumption," says Kevin Klustner, Powerit CEO. "This advanced demand management application gives our partners a very attractive way to offer additional functionality to their metering customers and get a handle on which advanced automation projects will drive down customer costs."

Demand Diagnostics reflects Powerit's years of experience in helping energy-intensive businesses cut electriciy costs without compromising production. It is built on the company's in-house estimation tool, which uses an advanced set of analytics and algorithms to accurately estimate potential demand savings and has been refined over time in a closed-loop process that feeds real customer results back into the tool.

Key benefits of Demand Diagnostics:

  • Smart grid connectivity: provides up-to-date energy pricing data and integration with the latest ISO, utility, and aggregator programs
  • Advanced demand analytics: evaluates a facility's energy use profile to determine demand management potential
  • Load control simulation: visualizes demand control actions and estimates savings
  • Hosted energy data: provides easy access to data from any Internet device and protects energy data from local intranet issues or equipment failure

Planned capabilities include an enterprise energy view that will allow users to consolidate and compare energy usage from multiple sites, and the addition of load status and submetering connections for even greater demand visibility. The current version of Demand Diagnostics works with aggregate data, but a future release will allow users to run simulations on particular loads to get detailed insights into potential savings.

In addition to the Demand Diagnostics upgrade, the latest version of Spara Hub features support for Open ADR 2.0a, improved localization capabilities for Spanish and other languages, and full integration with HMI (human-machine interface) systems, including the Rockwell environment.

Spara Hub connects changing utility data with changing customer load information in real time. This access to real-time utility pricing-plus integration with the latest ISO, utility, and aggregator programs-allows Spara DM users and Powerit partners to take full advantage of smart grid capabilities, enabling optimal control for savings and sustainability. Powerit partners can easily integrate Spara into their solutions and analyze customer demand profiles to create tailored demand management solutions.

Demand Diagnostics is available now, and Powerit is offering volume pricing to partners. Participants in the Rockwell Automation (News - Alert) Fair in Houston, Nov. 13 and 14, can see Demand Diagnostics in action at the Powerit Solutions booth, No. 943.
