(Global Data Point Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) AT&T has announced that U-verse customers in five additional states will be able to order home High Speed Internet at speeds up to 45 Mbps downstream and 6 Mbps upstream, beginning 29 September. In addition to the seventeen states where new speeds have already been launched, U-verse High Speed Internet Power will be available to eligible AT&T U-verse residential and small business customers in: Fort Smith and Little Rock, Arkansas, Topeka and Wichita, Kansas, Kansas City, Springfield and St. Louis, Missouri, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, Houston, Lubbock, Midland and San Antonio, Texas. The latest launches will complete AT&T's rollout of 45 Mbps speeds, which are part of AT&T's Project Velocity IP (VIP), a three-year investment plan announced in fall 2012 to expand and enhance its IP broadband speeds. AT&T plans to upgrade top tier U-verse speeds to up to 100 Mbps in the future. U-verse Power is available to eligible residential customers at introductory rates of USD 49.95 per month for up to twenty-four months when bundled with qualifying TV and voice services. Current eligible U-verse Internet residential customers can upgrade their package and receive USD 10 off their bill for twelve months.
