Interactive Intelligence Tapped as One of Indiana's Best Places to Work

May 16, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Intelligence Group Inc., a global provider of unified IP business communications software and services, has been named one of Indiana's 2013 Best Places to Work.

Interactive Intelligence was ranked 10th among 22 winners in the major companies' category, which includes firms with 1,000-plus employees. This is the seventh consecutive year Interactive Intelligence has been included in the ranking, which is coordinated by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, the Company noted in a release.

Companies nominated for the 2013 Best Places to Work in Indiana ranking were evaluated based on workplace policies, practices and demographics. Companies were also qualified based on employee survey responses that measured employee experience.

"As a software company, we're only as good as the people we hire," said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown. "This ranking affirms the priority we place on our employees by creating policies, practices and an environment that foster innovation, tenaciousness and passion for the work we do." Dr. Brown founded Interactive Intelligence in 1994 and has since grown it from a dozen-person start-up, to a publicly traded global company generating $237 million in annual revenues and employing more than 1,400 people worldwide.

Of its 1,400 global employees, 841 are based in Indiana. The company plans to increase its current Indiana headcount to a total of approximately 1,000 employees by year's end.

With the addition of local jobs, Interactive Intelligence also plans to expand its Indianapolis-based world headquarters this year by about 40,000 square feet, which would result in nearly 300,000 square feet spanning four buildings. This modern facility boasts an award-winning design, and includes a fitness center, game room and cafe.

In addition to standard benefits, Interactive Intelligence offers paternity leave, an on-site health care clinic, exercise classes, discounted on-site massage sessions, an at-home PC purchase plan, casual dress code, and leadership development programs. The company also offers volunteer opportunities for employees through its charitable Interactive Intelligence Foundation.
