CT Communications selects ADTRAN's Total Access broadband platform

Feb 26, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- ADTRAN, Inc., a provider of next-generation networking solutions, has announced that CT Communications has selected ADTRAN's Total Access broadband platform, to increase the throughput of its high-speed broadband services.

Optimized for premium services, ADTRAN's Total Access 5000 has enabled CT Communications to deliver a full range of next-generation services, like IPTV with full SD, HD and DVR capabilities, over both copper and fiber architectures for residential and business customers in western Ohio.

CT Communications' previous network equipment solution only allowed subscribers 1.5 Mbps internet download speeds and no video capabilities. After deploying the Total Access 5000, bandwidth service speeds have significantly increased with some customers having the ability to experience download speeds up to 50Mbps using the latest generation of copper technology, VDSL2.

On the fiber side, ADTRAN's Total Access 5000 also offers CT Communications a high-capacity optical Ethernet access network that scales to handle the bandwidth intensive services, enabling CT Communications to support compelling customer applications requiring 1Gbps upload and download speeds.

This flexible point-to-point Active Ethernet architecture allows CT Communications to provide a diverse product offer for both their premium residential and business services, increasing their overall services revenue potential.

"Triple-play customers have a choice between service providers that offer an array of high-speed broadband services, so it is critical for service providers to deploy the most advanced technologies possible to stay competitive," said Mitch Fleming, vice president of sales for ADTRAN's carrier networks division.

"ADTRAN's Total Access 5000 makes it possible for service providers like CT Communications to exceed both their residential and business customer expectations both in bandwidth speeds and diverse product sets." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
