CampusNorth Inc. Announces Online High School Courses for Public, Charter and Virtual Schools

New York, NY, Feb 20, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- CampusNorth Inc., today announced the release of 12 online high school courses for general elective, credit recovery, and dropout prevention programs. The courses make it easier for schools to provide students with greater choice, without hiring additional teachers.

The full-semester courses, which are available now, offer: 50 lessons of instructional content, arranged over 8 units; over 300 assessment items per course, including both tutor and computer-graded questions; standards-aligned, contemporary instruction and activities; desktop and mobile browser compatibility; and easy integration with existing learning management systems.

Designed for students in grades 9-12, CampusNorth offers subjects not traditionally available to high school students like Art Appreciation, Renewable Energy, and Media. The 2012/13 catalog also includes STEM courses like Marine Biology, Space Exploration and Psychology, and Medicine.

"These innovative online courses have the rigor and academic integrity that school districts expect," said Ashley Carlson, PhD., Director of Curriculum at CampusNorth. "We are focused on providing students with a greater choice of courses while maintaining academic quality. Our content correlates to existing state standards and is consistent with the Common Core State Standards Initiative." CampusNorth courses are designed for cross browser compatibility and feature responsive layouts that re-size to fit different screen sizes. Unlike some first-generation online courseware, CampusNorth's HTML5 content works with Apple's iPad.

"Students and teachers are asking for more choice, particularly in online electives and credit recovery courses. Not every school has the resources to meet that demand, and that's where we can help," said Matthew Birks, CEO at CampusNorth. "Keeping students engaged and minimizing dropout rates is even more important with online courses so our content is designed to be accessible and relevant." CampusNorth offers a free, 30-day demo for interested schools. Single student licenses start at $55 per course and can be purchased direct from CampusNorth or via leading education software vendors.
