Will You Be My Valentine? MocoSpace Survey Shows People Love Their Phones

BOSTON, Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Just in time for Valentine's Day, MocoSpace, the leading HTML5 mobile game community in North America, has released the findings of a new survey asking consumers which gadget they are in love with.

The top 3 devices were the iPhone 5 (31%), Galaxy S3 (30%), and the Xbox 360 (21%). The other devices rounding out the top 5 were the iPad and the PS3. Laptops ranked at the bottom of the survey.

"iPhone has been the must have device for the past few years, but there are clear signs that the competition is starting to catch up," said Justin Siegel, co-founder of MocoSpace. "Today, there are a lot of great devices on the market. The competition is fierce on all levels from hardware to software to the application stores. And when it comes to video games, consoles are now competing with phones and game specific devices like the Nintendo DS for gamers' attention and dollars." The survey's second question asked people, which phone was sexier, iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy S3. Surprisingly, the results were overwhelmingly in favor of the Galaxy S3, with 73% of the votes.

"Clearly Samsung's marketing is firing on all cylinders," said Siegel "It is making a big impression on our audience of young, multicultural gamers." The survey results are based on 11,000 responses from the MocoSpace audience.
