Securus expanded its texting capabilities by adding four additional carrier networks - including Metro PCS and Cricket, and is now covered by 50 carriers in total. This expansion adds an additional 15 million consumers to have the capability to receive text alert capabilities. Although many customers prefer to track Securus GPS locators through satellite, street-level or hybrid map displays online or via the free Securus smartphone app, the company offers a simple way for cellphone users to locate Securus GPS devices by sending a text message and receiving a return text with the location. This function works with all Securus GPS locator products, including Portable Tracking & Safety Locator, eZoom, and Emergency Medical Response Device, eCare+Voice.
