Bank of Ireland launches Pay to Mobile service

Feb 12, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Bank of Ireland has launched new Pay to Mobile service, allowing its customers to make payments from one mobile to another.

The Bank's new 'Pay to Mobile' allows customers to transfer money with a registered Bank of Ireland account, by using their mobile phone number. The service is available for iPhone users, with an Android version following shortly, the company said.

Gavin Kelly, Head of Direct Channels at Bank of Ireland said: "The changing needs and preferences of our customers, coupled with technological advances, has led to the rapid adoption of direct banking channels. We want to enable our customers to access banking services through the technologies that they use every day. This new service allows customers to transfer money to friends or family without having to know, or input, their account details. We're delighted to be the first bank in Ireland to rollout this capability to our customers." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
