Highlights of the UltiPro Fall/Winter 2012 Release

Extended Multinational HCM Support

Ultimate currently supports customers operating in more than 136 countries worldwide, with more than 10 million people records in its cloud HCM environment. As organizations of all sizes continue to grow their global operations, Ultimate is expanding its capabilities for multinational people management, performance, and administration. New capabilities include:

Global HCM enhancements and country-specific localizations. The latest release of UltiPro includes four new localizations to support employees in Chile, India, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Ultimate is introducing new capabilities to manage an employee's personal information details with country-specific validations and data display based on the employee's home country. This allows Ultimate's multinational customers to be confident that they are locally compliant, and capable of supporting unique local business processes, while also achieving a global view of their workforce for managing and reporting on critical employee information.

New Canadian Record of Employment. In response to the most requested enhancements from Ultimate's Canadian customers, the latest UltiPro release delivers a completely new Record of Employment (ROE) and improves the Canada hiring experience for HR teams. Role-based security allows the end user to:

  • Extract, import, and print files from ROE administration
  • Easily capture information during the hire and re-hire process, such as primary and multiple alternate phone numbers, home company, piece rate, and variable pay group
  • Instantly access business intelligence with the new multi-company hire feature for seamless reporting on new fields
  • Easily configure workflow for hires, re-hires, and multi-hires

Redesigned Tablet and Smartphone Solutions

Ultimate's more than 2,500 custoers span industries diverse as retail and restaurants, professional sports, healthcare, energy, technology, manufacturing, and financial services. Tablets and smartphones are becoming an increasingly popular device of choice for both employees and supervisors managing the performance of their teams, improving system access for all employees. Ultimate's new mobile solutions are designed to support the diversity in our user base, with a broad range of capabilities for managers and employees.

In its latest release, Ultimate introduced a completely redesigned and multilingual version of UltiPro Mobile to all customers, with no implementation required and no additional costs for customers to use the new capabilities. The new version of UltiPro Mobile uses HTML5 and responsive Web design to support a rich, consumer-style user experience on virtually any smartphone or tablet, including iPhones, iPads, Android (News - Alert)-based devices, and Windows-based devices. Responsive Web design adjusts the layout and format of the application to the device screen size for easier navigation and viewing. This intuitive and visually engaging experience allows employees and managers to get work done quickly and easily on their preferred devices.

UltiPro's mobile capabilities reflect the way people operate and conduct business on a daily basis by instantly delivering the most meaningful information and on-the-go tools requested by Ultimate's users. Employees and managers have the ability to:

  • Record personal goals or team goals and achievements, and visualize progress toward those goals
  • Note observations about employees and relevant career milestones
  • View current pay statement details and pay history
  • View colleagues' contact information and connect directly to Twitter and LinkedIn (News - Alert) profiles

"Providing a user experience that is authentic to how people really want to work and access HR, payroll, and career information from their mobile devices was a major factor in designing the new UltiPro Mobile solution," said Rogers. "We studied consumer mobile technology extensively and designed UltiPro Mobile to deliver the most critical information to managers and employees in a way that works best for them. We're very excited about our new mobile solution and its ability to help managers have a deeper connection and engagement with coworkers and team members."

Ultimate's Localized Approach to Global HCM

Ultimate plans to announce additional details of its 2013 global HCM strategy, including extended global support, at its annual customer conference, Connections, taking place in Las Vegas, March 12-15, 2013.

Ultimate's approach to global HCM goes beyond providing a standard data extract or interface that must be supplemented at the local level. Ultimate's strategy includes making key global data a standard deliverable that can be masked or exposed based on a customer's business needs and global expansion plans. The advantage of Ultimate's approach is that UltiPro can support local employees and managers with role- and region-based experiences, delivering the appropriate data for their work environment while retaining appropriate confidentiality and protections. This allows customers to deliver solutions for their regional operations, with localized fields on a country-by-country basis to ensure they can meet reporting and compliance requirements.

UltiPro's global functionality tailors the user experience to employee cultural preferences, automatically displaying information such as currency, phone numbers, and date in the correct local format. Multinational employees also have the tools needed to take ownership of their professional growth and manage career details in their talent profile as appropriate.

"Ultimate's latest global initiatives simply support Ultimate's strategy to give customers one central platform to manage their employees worldwide, but it also focuses on making the HCM technology experience satisfying to the individual employee, no matter his or her location," said Rogers. "Our approach really starts with our 'People First' philosophy-to develop a user experience that feels natural and comfortable for employees regardless of where they live and work."
