KVH marks 3,000th TracPhone for mini-VSAT broadband network

Feb 08, 2013 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- KVH Industries, Inc., (NASDAQ: KVHI) recently shipped its 3,000th TracPhone terminal for the mini-VSAT Broadbandsm network, extending the company's lead as the provider of the world's most widely used maritime VSAT service.

Launched in 2007, KVH's maritime broadband service was the first to use spread spectrum technology that enabled small, easy-to-install onboard terminals to receive fast, affordable VSAT quality data connections offshore. KVH grew its service to become the world's largest maritime VSAT network through a geographic coverage rollout that is now complete and covers all the world's oceans.

KVH Industries, Inc., is the provider of in-motion satellite TV and communications systems, having designed, manufactured, and sold more than 150,000 mobile satellite antennas for applications on vessels, vehicles, and aircraft. In March 2012, Euroconsult reported that KVH was the market share leader in global maritime VSAT. KVH's mission is to connect mobile customers around the globe with the same digital television entertainment, communications, and Internet services that they enjoy in their homes and offices. The company is based in Middletown, RI, with facilities in Illinois, Denmark, Norway, Singapore, and Japan.
