SES and VimpelCom sign capacity deal for NSS-9 satelliteFeb 01, 2013 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Satellite operator SES (Paris:SESG.PA) announced today that JSC VimpelCom (NYSE:VIP), a mobile operator based in Russia, has signed a three-year capacity deal for additional capacity on SES' NSS-9 satellite to deliver high-quality data services in the Russian Far East. Financial details of the agreement were not available. This additional capacity on the NSS-9 satellite will reportedly be used to provide data services to VimpelCom's corporate clients based in the Kamchatka, Magadan and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky regions. It will also enable VimpelCom to optimise the use of satellite capacity for its 3G network in the Russian Far East and East Siberia region.
