ZTE, Huawei: Success Relies on Innovation not Low PriceJan 31, 2013 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. stated that it succeeded because of innovation but not low price. The statement was made in response to the foreign media report dated January 30, which claims that EU trade officials have asked China to continue opening up telecom equipment market and allocate 30% share of this market to EU telecom equipment providers. The officials also proposed that Huawei and ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063 and SEHK: 0763) should raise the price of exported products by 29%. Huawei said to the media on January 30 that it has always been a supporter and pioneer of free trade, claiming that European communication enterprises' interest in Chinese market conforms to that of Huawei, and innovation, rather than price, is the only motive power to push forward sustainable development of the telecom market. The statement was echoed by ZTE, which stated yesterday that it has been devoting itself to open and transparent operation by abiding by related trade rules stipulated by the WTO and other countries. The company also declared that it was a global company alway relying on innovative technology and excellent products and service to win markets and customers.
