PRSA New York Announces 2013 Big Apple Awards Call for Entries

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 01/24/13 -- The New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-NY) released today a call for entries for the 2013 Big Apple Awards, courting public relations practitioners based in the tri-state area to submit their best work in a variety of categories as candidates for one of these coveted awards.

Widely regarded as one of the industry's most competitive and prestigious accolades, the Big Apple Awards honors PR campaigns that impact business outcomes through innovative and strategic campaigns. Public relations professionals based in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are invited to submit their best work, conducted anywhere in the world during 2012, for consideration. Winners will be announced at the annual awards ceremony being held on Thursday, May 23 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City.

"The concentration of PR professionals in the tri-state area is unrivaled throughout the world," said Lea-Ann Germinder, APR, Fellow PRSA, president, PRSA-NY and president, Germinder & Associates. "To stand out in this crowded field requires both creativity and results -- a blend of the subjective and the objective. When we shine a light on the best of the best, we not only give credit where credit is due, but we demonstrate the immense value strategic public relations provides to the general business community." The New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America established the Big Apple Awards program in 1988 to encourage excellence in public relations. Over the years, more than 1,000 winning programs have solved problems, changed opinions and created business opportunities.
