Previously, as vice president of engineering & technical services at SCE, Kelly was responsible for planning, engineering, design, and R&D for SCE's T&D grid. He formed SCE's Advanced Technology organization, which has risen to national prominence for its leadership role in electric vehicle and Smart Grid technology. He also pioneered deployment of synchronous phasor measurement, the Distribution Circuit of the Future, and other advances in grid sensing, monitoring and control.   GRIDiant Corporation provides a data analytics and visualization software platform for electric distribution network simulation, asset planning and management, and real-time operations applications. The GRIDiant platform generates powerful new decision-support and visualization value from network data streams generated by GIS, SCADA, OMS, AMI, and various asset-monitoring devices.  "As software analytics vendors to the utility industry, we're honored and delighted that Jim Kelly has agreed to participate as an advisor to our GRIDiant business and engineering teams. Few in the industry offer his experience, wisdom, and practicality, and we'll benefit in many ways from his involvement with us," said Andy Colman, GRIDiant CEO.

"I've been following GRIDiant now for some time," Kelly said. "I've been impressed with the way their core analytical 'engine' can handle very large data sets from divergent utility systems and turn them into extremely accurate, insightful and useful information both for operations and for long-term grid planning and management. GRIDiant's products offer immediate value by addressing the challenges every C-level utility executive faces every hour of every day specifically, safety, compliance, reliability and cost. I'm excited about working with the GRIDiant team and their industry customers to use their grid analytics platform to answer the really hard questions."   About GRIDiant GRIDiant provides the Advanced Grid Management (AGM™) suite of simulation, analytics, optimization, and display software, comprising a unique platform of applications for electric power networks driven by its patented GRIDfast™ engine. Developed and validated over 10 years, GRIDiant AGM allows electric utilities to optimize in real-time the operations and planning of transmission, distribution, and combined T&D networks, and to see the analytic results displayed graphically and geospatially on state-of-the art, interactive UIs. GRIDiant AGM allows electric utilities to leverage data from GIS, SCADA, OMS, AMI, and DTM systems and equipment to realize savings through improved reliability, reduced line losses, heightened operating efficiency, increased asset utilization and enhanced demand response.
