(Officer, The Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Northrop Grumman Produces Advanced Targeting Pods for U.S. Air Force Northrop Grumman has received a $71.5 million order from the U.S. Air Force to begin full-rate production of LITENING SE advanced targeting pods and spares for the Advanced Targeting Pod-Sensor Enhancement program. The LITENING SE pylonmounted targeting pod can produce infrared and visible imagery of both airborne and ground targets, enabling pilots to detect, acquire, auto-track, and identify targets for accurate delivery of both conventional and precision-guided weapons. The pod provides laser ranging and designation to support weapon delivery, navigational functions, and recording and data-linking of generated imagery and data. Technology advancements deliver more accurate target identification and location at longer ranges than previous generations of LITENING targeting pod systems while reducing pilot workload.



Raytheon Gives Grant to Student Veterans of America Raytheon and Student Veterans of America (SVA) have joined forces to help student veterans attain their higher education goals as they transition from active military services to civilian life. Raytheon presented SVA with a $50,000 grant on Veterans Day. The company's partnership with SVA will provide support, mentoring, career guidance, and opportunities to service members pursuing higher-education degrees. The SVA program sponsorship includes establishment of the SVA-Raytheon STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Scholarship; support for the Leadership Institute Series, which provides training to SVA chapter leaders aimed at improving peer support for student veterans; and launch of the Student Veteran Outcomes Project, an effort to track the graduation rates of student veterans on campuses nationwide.
