Paragon Software's Universal File System Driver technology is selected to be embedded in Corsair's new Voyager Air portable, wireless drive

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 11 January 2013 Release date- 09012013 - Irvine, CA - Paragon Software Group (PSG) announced that Corsair's newly released Voyager Air, a portable, wireless drive, is embedded with Paragon's universal file system driver (UFSD) technology.

Paragon's drivers enable cross-platform read/write access to various file systems connected to the Voyager Air. Corsair's drive was announced at their launch event at CES 2013.

Paragon's cross-platform driver technology makes the Voyager Air compatible with all devices and PCs, regardless of the operating system. The portable Voyager Air is the first all-in-one mobile, wireless, home network drive. It can be used as a home NAS via its Gigabit connection or as a portable hard drive (USB 3.0) or a wireless hub (Wi-Fi). Voyager Air streams movies and music via Wi-Fi to multiple client devices including PCs, Macs, and Android and iOS devices.

'Paragon's driver technology was selected over its competition because of its exceptional transfer rate performance,' said Thi La, Senior VP and GM of Memory and Enthusiast Component Products at Corsair. 'By embedding Paragon's drivers into our solution, Voyager Air is best-in-class with regards to file/data transfer speeds; especially when it is directly attached via USB 3.0.' Voyager Air supports multiple partitions and comes preformatted with the NTFS file system with which Paragon's driver is included to enable Mac users to write to the NTFS drive. Voyager Air users may reformat the drive with an HFS+ file system, if needed.

'We are very excited to partner with Corsair on their innovative Voyager Air project,' said Tom Fedro, president of Paragon Software Group. 'As we see an increase in demand for multimedia mobile devices to share data and connect with each other, the demand for the underlying driver technology for NTFS, HFS+, exFAT and other file system is critical to maintaining a seamless environment for the consumer.' Paragon's cross-platform technology enables storage devices, mobile phones, tablets, set top boxes, multimedia players, routers and other hardware to communicate regardless of the operating system, be it Android-, Windows-, Mac- or Linux-based.
