REDCOM Exhibits Next Generation Network Carrier-Class Solutions at PTC 2013 Conference

Victor, NY, Jan 04, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- REDCOM Laboratories Inc. announced today that the company will exhibit at the 2013 Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) conference, January 20-23 in Booth #8 at the Hilton Village Beach Resort & Spa in Honolulu, Hawaii.

At PTC 2013, REDCOM will showcase the new SLICE(R) 2100(TM) Micro, which packs the communications power of REDCOM's SLICE 2100 into a box as small as a hardcover book. Powered by REDCOM's TRANSip(R) IP technology suite, the SLICE 2100 Micro features an integrated Media Gateway, Media Gateway Controller, SIP Call Controller, and legacy support. The SLICE 2100 Micro is ideal for first responders that require an interoperable and highly portable communications node. Even when packaged in its ruggedized carrying case, the SLICE 2100 Micro is still small enough to fit in the overhead compartments of commercial aircraft.

Other products to be highlighted at the show will be REDCOM's HDX and SLICE 2100 next generation softswitch solutions. These are cost-effective solutions that preserve all the functionality and investment in existing infrastructure. With an HDX or SLICE 2100 migration platform, Pacific Island service providers have the flexibility of migrating to IP when it makes sense, eliminating forklift replacements.

Recently, Telecom Cook Islands (TCI) replaced their legacy NEAX 61 exchange, completing a network transformation to NGN based on REDCOM's HDX and SLICE 2100 International/IP/End Office softswitches. "TCI now has the banner network, leading all others in the Asia/Pacific region," said Charles DeRoller, Director of International Sales and Marketing, REDCOM.

REDCOM's HDX is a powerful softswitch and SIP call manager that retains complete Class 4/5 capabilities in a single platform. Operating as both a softswitch and an international gateway, HDX delivers up to 3,000 IP subscribers per unit. HDX is an ideal "cap and grow" replacement that facilitates easy migration to VoIP at the most opportune time for carriers, while allowing service providers to retain legacy equipment.
