BRIEF: Mass to be broadcast on TV, radio, online for homebound Catholics

Dec 13, 2012 (Bangor Daily News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- PORTLAND, Maine -- Many Maine Catholics who are homebound, hospitalized, traveling or unable to attend services due to inclement weather may be part of a larger community of faith by watching Mass on television, listening to it on the radio or viewing it online.

A new program, "My Sunday Mass," produced in Milwaukee, Wis., will be broadcast at 9:30 a.m. Sundays on cable television, DirecTV and the Dish Network in the Portland, Auburn and Presque Isle areas, according to a press release issued earlier this week by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.

It also will be broadcast on the Presence radio network, owned by the diocese. Masses are archived online at www.MySundayMass.org.

The program specifically features prayer intentions from viewers and homilies offering words of comfort and spirituality for the homebound, the press release said.
