Department of Transportation and Communications of Philippines Selects Guardtime to Combat Physical Document Forgery

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 13 December 2012 Release date- 12122012 - Manila | Palo Alto - Philippine Department of Transportation and Communications has selected Guardtime, the leading provider of keyless signature technology for validating the integrity and authenticity of digital data, and local partner Trust Technologies, to pilot the Link2Cloud solution to quickly and reliably verify physical document authenticity in field conditions.

Chief Administrator for Philippine Marine Industry Authority, Atty. Nick A. Conti explains: 'We are responsible for safe seas in the Philippines, and being in control of the personnel on board of our ships is paramount for achieving that. Implementing Link2Cloud solution enables our officials as well as ship administrators to easily verify the authenticity of Seaman's Identification Record Books.' Guardtime's Link2Cloud solution takes advantage of the Keyless Signature technology to store tamper-evident benchmark digital images of the physical documents in a cloud infrastructure and connected smartphone devices to display them and enable officials to compare the benchmark image and the presented physical document.

The solution is rapidly deployable on its own or complementing any existing IT systems and with a pay-as-you-go cost model, yields its users an immediate return on investment.

Within the Philippine Department of Transportation and Communications, the Link2Cloud solution will be first piloted at Marine Industry Authority and will enable its field officers as well as ship administrators to verify the authenticity of Seaman's Identification Record Books.

The solution is based on Keyless Signature Infrastructure (KSI), implemented using Joyent's Smart Data Center by Joyent (www.joynet.com) and delivered by Guardtime partner Trust Technologies, an exclusive KSI distributor in the Philippines.

Most recently, Guardtime announced a partnership with China Telecom, the largest fixed line telecommunications service provider in the People's Republic of China, establishing China Telecom as a keyless signature service provider via its Tianyi 3G platform.
