AccelOps Appoints Former Cisco Senior Executive Flint Brenton as New CEO

SANTA CLARA, CA, Dec 12, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- AccelOps, Inc., the leader in integrated Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and performance and availability monitoring (PAM) for on-premise and cloud-based data centers, today announced that it has appointed former Cisco Systems executive and Tidal Software CEO Flint Brenton as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. As a seasoned Silicon Valley technology executive, Brenton will lead AccelOps through its next phase of expansion, driving business strategy and operations to capitalize on the rapidly growing market for advanced IT infrastructure monitoring.

"We are pleased to have an executive of Flint's caliber and experience to lead the AccelOps team into the expanding ITOM infrastructure market," said Chris Rust, partner at U.S. Venture Partners and a member of AccelOps' board of directors. "According to Gartner ITOM and SIEM market reports, the total addressable market for AccelOps was $6.9 billion in 2010, and is predicted to grow to $9.7 billion by 2014. With Flint's leadership, AccelOps is well-poised to succeed in this market with its patent-pending distributed real-time analytics and integrated monitoring technology and its recent $18 million Series B funding." Brenton most recently served as senior vice president of engineering in Cisco's Intelligent Automation Business Unit. In this role, he led the organization in delivering automation solutions, through organic development and acquisition, that make it easier for IT to manage and administer diverse technologies. In 2008, as president and CEO of Tidal Software, he oversaw the company's acquisition by Cisco. He then guided the integration of the Tidal business into Cisco and the creation of the Intelligent Automation business unit. During his 25-year career, Brenton also served as senior vice president and general manager of NetIQ's Security and Administration business unit, and has held various leadership positions at NetIQ, Compaq Computer Corporation, BMC Software, and IBM. He received a master's in business and public management from Rice University and a bachelor of science degree from Mount Union College.

"AccelOps offers integrated SIEM and performance and availability monitoring for cloud infrastructures," Brenton said. "I am impressed with the depth as well as the breadth of the company's cross-domain technology for monitoring all aspects of modern data center infrastructure, both physical and virtualized. In the 2012 fiscal year, AccelOps reported that the company doubled revenues and the number of customers. I am excited to build on AccelOps' success and with the opportunity to shape a dynamic and growing market driven by customers' transition from traditional data centers to private, hybrid and public cloud service infrastructures."
