Huawei Becomes China Telecom's Biggest IP Device Partner

BEIJING, Dec 12, 2012 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Telecom Corporation, Ltd. (SEHK: 0728, NYSE: CHA) has disclosed the winners of a bidding for the 2012 2nd-batch centralized procurement of IP equipments, showing that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. is the largest partner.

In response to the fast development of rising businesses like large bandwidth video and cloud computing, China Telecom keeps enlarging its broadband scale and optimizing its network structure. The company plans to increase the Internet access capacity to 8-12M for each user, thus requiring the equipments on business control layer to be transferred from 10G platforms to 40G/100G ones.

Meanwhile, Huawei's ME60 and NE40E series can be smoothly upgraded to a level of 200G per channel and could be compatible with printed circuit boards (PCB), thus satisfying the demands of China Telecom for future development and guaranteeing its investment. That is why China Telecom selected Huawei as its largest partner for the project mentioned before.
