BRIEF: Wireless broadband co Alvarion wins Guinea contract


Nov 26, 2012 (Globes - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Wireless broadband solutions company Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR) has won a contract for its 4Motion voice and data services product for nationwide deployment in Guinea in West Africa. ETI SA, an Alvarion customer for a decade, is expanding its broadband network from Guinea's capital, Conakry, to the rest of the country. The company did not disclose the size of the deal.



"After having gained experience with Alvarion's 4Motion over past four years, we were confident in our decision to continue using it as we expand our network from Conakry to cover the rest of the country," said ETI CEO Latif Taleb.

Alvarion president and CEO Hezi Lapid said, "We are delighted to continue working with ETI on expanding its network. Winning this expansion project is positive proof of our outstanding technology and expertise." He added that the company's known expertise was the foundation upon which its leadership position in Africa was built and would be maintained.
