Pak telco acted as front for anti-India activities: Cops [DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India)]

(DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Investigations into the 26/11 terrorist attack case has revealed that a Pakistani government-owned telecom company, that is based in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, was working as an intermediary to harbour terror activities against India.

According to the police, the slain terrorists were constantly in touch with their handlers in Pakistan on mobile phone numbers that were connected to New Jersey-based Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service provider Callphonex. Investigations revealed that someone identifying himself as Kharak Singh communicated with Callphonex through the email ID and set up an account.

This ID was accessed from at least ten IP addresses, which were traced to different addresses and senders from Pakistan, Moscow, Kuwait and Chicago. Pakistani colonel R Sadatullah and Khurram Shahzad were found to have accessed the e-mail ID from an IP address located at the Special Communications Organisation (SCO) office at Rawalpindi, and Sajid Iftikhar, from an IP address in Lahore, the police had stated in their charge sheet.

"R Saadat Ullah is the head of SCO, and as per our information, he was in the Pakistani army earlier. SCO provides telecom services for civilians, but, in this case, has helped terrorists in Mumbai communicate," a crime branch officer said.
