(Canadian Press DataFile Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TORONTO _ Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange: Toronto Stock Exchange (12,040.40 up 162.68 points): Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Up one cent, or 0.32 per cent, at $3.13 on 6,931,652 shares.



Poseidon Concepts Corp. (TSX:PSN). Fluid handler. Up 96 cents, or 20.25 per cent, at $5.70 on 5,521,221 shares.

Mega Brands Inc. (TSX:MB.WT). Toy maker. Down one cent, or 5.41 per cent, at $17.5 cents on 4,496,400 shares.


Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM). Wireless technology. Up 36 cents, or 3.90 per cent, at $9.59 on 4,883,910 shares.

Labrador Iron Mines Holdings Ltd. (TSX:LIM). Miner. Down four cents, or 6.45 per cent, at 58 cents on 4,457,794 shares.

Talison Lithium Ltd. (TSX:TLH). Miner. Up 9.5 cents, or 1.35 per cent, at $7.14 on 4,150,688 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,249.96 up 14.62 points): New Guinea Gold Corp. (TSXV:NGG). Miner. Up half a cent, or 100 per cent, at one cent on 6,925,000 shares.

Zodiac Exploration Inc. (TSXV:ZEX). Oil and gas. Down half a cent, or five per cent, at 9.5 cents on 5,885,765 shares.

Companies reporting major news: Astral Media Inc. (TSX:ACM.A). Media. Up $1.38, or 3.11 per cent, at $45.78 on 1,271,273 shares. BCE Inc. (up two cents, or 0.05 per cent, at $$42.01 on 1,097,651 shares) expects that its new proposal to buy Astral Media will address the federal regulator's concern about the telecom giant dominating the television market. The CRTC killed the $3.4-billion deal last month.

Agrium Inc. (TSX:AGU). Fertilizer, chemicals and farm inputs retailer. Up $3.20, or 3.27 per cent, at $101.01 on 383,197 shares. The company was defiant Monday as its largest shareholder, New York hedge fund Jana Partners LLC, demanded five new directors be added to the Canadian agriculture giant's board. It dismissed Jana Partners LLC's latest move as "almost certain to fail" and vowed to stick with its current strategy.

Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX:PRE). Oil and gas. Down 25 cents, or 1.13 per cent, at $21.88 on 2,243,104 shares. The company has agreed to acquire C&C Energia Ltd. (up $1.35, or 18 per cent, at $8.85 on 3,915,934 shares) in a deal that will create a larger Colombia-focused oil and gas explorer. Under the deal announced Monday, each C&C share will be exchanged for 0.3528 Pacific Rubiales shares, for a total value of $7.81 per share, or about $500 million.
