To expand its footprint in Latin American region, Level 3 Communications (News - Alert), a communication service provider for the enterprise, government and carrier customers, has introduced its suite of video broadcast services, Vyvx Solutions, to the Latin American markets.

The service can now be contracted and managed in-region for broadcast and media customers, the company said in a recent statement.

Leveraging its HD quality IP fiber network, Level 3's Vyvx solution provides broadcasters, sports organizations, studios and media companies in Latin America the ability to transmit their high-quality video content within the region or to any location in the world.
According to Level 3, the solution preserved its leadership position in the global broadcast services space for more than 20 years. To date, Level 3 has signed agreements to transmit more than 35,000 hours of video over its network for companies in the region.
Vyvx's full suite of video transmission solutions can be customized for video transmissions of any type of event from various locations. Some of the largest media and entertainment companies worldwide turn to Vyvx services for their high profile news, sports, entertainment and other special event broadcasts.
According to Gartner (News - Alert), a number of broadcast companies in the region recently began using Vyvx Solutions to expand their presence in Latin America and beyond, including sports broadcaster ESPN (News - Alert) Brazil, Terra, a global digital media company and content producer and TV Azteca, one of the largest producers of Spanish-language television programming in the world.
"Level 3 is proud to now offer Vyvx Solutions to customers in Latin America and across the world that are seeking to expand their presence in Latin America in order to meet their ever-growing, end-to-end broadcast video delivery needs. We look forward to building upon our existing customer base by offering scalable, flexible broadcasts via satellite and fiber optic networks," said Leonardo Barbero, Level 3's senior vice president and chief marketing officer and for Latin America.
Level 3 Communications, Inc. recently added content delivery network (CDN) services to its offerings available to government agencies under the Washington Interagency Telecommunications System (WITS 3) contract.
