Avistar Continues to Grow Revenue, Deliver on Partner Commitments, Deploy to Fortune 500 - While Experiencing Strongest Business Growth in Corporate History

SAN MATEO, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Avistar (News - Alert) Communications (, a leader in unified visual communications solutions, closed out the first two quarters of 2012 with strong growth. In second quarter of 2012, revenue grew, matching the 80 percent increase in revenue in Q1 2012 over the same periods in 2011, as Avistar delivered on key product initiatives while expanding its partner and channel relationships.

Avistar achieved an important delivery milestone in the Citrix software integration project, which led to Citrix Systems (News - Alert) announcing the availability of the Citrix HDX Real-Time with Optimization Pack for Microsoft Lync 1.0, which integrates and leverages the Avistar C3 Integrator™ solution.

"It makes an important statement that Citrix - the leader in desktop virtualization - has partnered with Avistar to offer the industry's first virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) platform to support unified communications," said Bob Kirk, CEO of Avistar. Kirk also commented, "The Company's actions in 2012 speak to our intention of leveraging the millions of man hours we have invested in the Avistar C3 (News - Alert)™ platformto better enable video collaboration within strategic OEM partners and their new and existing solutions. In addition to this, our new financial freedom allows Avistar the flexibility to take on strategic investors and partners which allows us to rapidly invest in our platform, while making new innovations available to our OEM partners, new partners and clients, and the industry as a whole."

Additionally, Avistar announced support for extended multiparty videoconferencing capabilities for Microsoft Lync 2010 within the Avistar C3 Conference™ solution. The Avistar C3 Conference solution is designed to expand the capabilities of the Microsoft Lync platform, while enabling clients and partners to enhance their unified communications (UC) features within a virtualized server environment, such as Citrix XenServer®. As the solution is based entirely on an all-software design, it can be deployed using standards based hardware, on premises or within a cloud environment.

Avistar's technological innovation was recognized by leading industry analysts in reports from IDC, Forrester and Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert). Avistar received the Unified Communications Product of the Year Award from TMC for its Avistar C3 IntegratorTM solution, an important enabler to broad adoption of UC within the virtual desktop environment. Avistar also received the Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation in Desktop Videoconferencing, validating the company's virtualized visual communications solutions as well as its commitment to innovation and partnership with Citrix.
