ON24 to Offer On-Demand Content to Rosetta Stone Users

Aug 17, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- ON24, Inc., a global company focusing on webcasting and virtual event solutions, announced that Rosetta Stone, Inc., a language-learning brand, has selected ON24 Webcast Elite as the platform for its customer-focused webcasts.

The ON24 webcasting solution will be used to broadcast weekly and monthly online "socials," enabling Rosetta Stone users to meet in the virtual environment to learn tips, techniques and cultural content from Rosetta Stone experts. With the ON24 platform, the Company said that Rosetta Stone will increase the number and capacity of its webcasts and enhance the learning experience by offering users on-demand content, as well as access to webcasts via smartphones and tablet computers, including iOS and Android devices.

Designed as a system to learn language for business or pleasure, ON24 noted that the Rosetta Stone software is an immersive online language-learning program that combines online coursework, live interaction with native-speaking coaches and other learners, and access to Rosetta World, a web-based community where users can play language games and discover cultural content to increase their skills and enhance their experience. Offered globally in seven languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Korean and German), the company's online socials have drawn over 15,000 attendees from around the world in the past 12 months and continue to grow. Since inception, the Rosetta Stone social attendees have averaged significantly more time of language study in the program than a control group of learners who never attended one of the information sessions.

With ON24, Rosetta Stone will serve a greater number of learners by providing localized content and extra on-demand resources, including video, chat and social media sharing. Thanks to ON24's reporting capabilities, the Company said it will be able to better understand customers in terms of demographics/geography and their preferences for content consumption. Rosetta Stone will go live with its first ON24 webcast this month and plans to scale operations, with more than 15 webcasts per month.

"Our online social events are strategic and customer-focused," said Nilofer Saidi, Senior Director of Customer Relationship Management at Rosetta Stone. "We're not selling anything -- we just want our customers to get the most from their language learning experience and meet their goals for success. The events provide an interactive avenue for our language learners to engage with us in a way that will help strengthen their relationship with the brand and product. We're excited to explore even more through these socials, and we're confident that ON24's Webcast Elite supports our mission to deliver the best overall experience to our learners." "It is highly appropriate that a global language teaching enterprise would select ON24 webcasting," said Denise Persson CMO of ON24. "Our webcasting platform provides the scale and performance to deliver e-learning to a global audience, as well as localization tools -- enabling companies like Rosetta Stone to better serve learners by delivering engaging content on any device, anywhere in the world." Rosetta Stone provides interactive technology that can activate the language immersion method.

ON24, a virtual communications platform for the global enterprise, provides interactive, i cloud-based solutions.
