EDX Wireless Introduces SignalPro v8.0

Aug 16, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- EDX Wireless, a provider of Wireless Network design tools, announced the release of EDX SignalPro v8.0, its flagship wireless network design and optimization software.

According to a release, this new release enhances the Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) planning capabilities within SignalPro and contains many new features available as an inline upgrade for the entire EDX range of products.

"Version 8.0 of SignalPro has been designed with the needs of increasingly complex Broadband Wireless Access (BWA), Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and backhaul deployments in mind. Looking forward, we see this release as a critical step in supporting the automation of small cell deployments as they emerge," said Mark Chapman, CEO of EDX. "We are pleased to be able to offer this level of wireless network analysis and design automation to our customers which will greatly simplify the design and optimization of large and integrated networks." EDX said SignalPro v8.0 supports native 64-bit operation, improving its ability to rapidly process data for large projects, as is common in existing Smart Grid and emerging small cell systems. Moreover, the enhanced PtMP design and analysis capability can be used in large-scale BWA, M2M and integrated backhaul design. Building on previous releases, v8.0 supports an extensive range of study types permitting analysis of multipoint system links using virtually any type of technology. The Automatic Frequency Planning assignment mode (available with SignalPro + Network Design Module) coordinates CPE channel and server assignments by considering a comprehensive and programmable set of system constraints; ensuring an optimal channel plan. Meanwhile, the Automated Site Selection utility further simplifies project design by selecting hub sites and CPE's from a candidate list based on an RF optimized site selection algorithm. This is useful not only for designing systems with known candidates, but also for initial estimates, presales analysis and RFP responses.

In addition, this latest release of SignalPro contains a fully programmable query function and statistical analysis utility, offering displays of key statistics and study results.
