Sonic Foundry to Release High Definition Recorder

Mar 12, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Sonic Foundry, a provider of lecture capture, enterprise and event webcasting, announced the Mediasite ML HD Recorder, the newest addition to its high definition family of recorders and streaming software.

According to a release, the latest release is designed specifically for live events, conferences, commencements and on-the-go webcasting.

With the ML HD Recorder, viewers experience the highest resolution rich media streaming for any live or on-demand webcast. With HD/SDI broadcast standard input, the ML HD can be used with both professional and consumer video equipment to offer greater flexibility. The Recorder captures and encodes H.264 video up to 720p and 30 frames per second, simultaneously synchronizing it with high resolution images up to 2048 x 1536. When paired with the Mediasite 6 webcasting and video content management platform, ML HD-recorded content is instantly streamed to any computer or mobile device including iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android and BlackBerry. Ubiquitous mobile playback radically accelerates the adoption of lecture capture and video content management for education institutions, corporations and government at any stage in their video streaming initiatives.

The portable and ruggedized ML HD Recorder joins the Mediasite RL HD Recorder already on the market, which provides HD capture and live streaming for integrated classrooms, training rooms and video command centers.

"Sonic Foundry's driving mission has always been customer-focused innovation backed by solid releases and support. In applying that to our newest generation of Mediasite Recorders, we've amplified quality of the user viewing experience while maximizing the reliability we're known for in a live streaming, no-fail environment," said Gary Weis, CEO of Sonic Foundry. "With the release of the new Mediasite ML HD Recorder, our customers will continue to experience the best possible streaming quality, not only from the end-user's perspective, but also for the technicians who work behind the scenes to ensure quality webcasts. Mediasite continues to set the standard for providing unparalleled quality in its enterprise webcasting platform." Mediasite ML HD Recorder will be available at the end of March.
