Virtacore Offers VMware vCloud ServicesSep 30, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Virtacore Systems, Inc., a company focusing on hybrid cloud services, has announced that it is one of four VMware partners to offer trial cloud services as part of the initial launch of vcloud.vmware.com, an online destination where enterprises can find VMware vCloud service providers, learn about their capabilities and coverage, and test drive selected cloud services. By participating in vcloud.vmware.com, Virtacore said it will also offer customers the ability to transfer workloads and data into its cloud service using the upcoming VMware vCloud Connector 1.5, soon to be offered as an integrated web client in vcloud.vmware.com Virtacore offers VMware vCloud Express and VMware vCloud Powered cloud services. "Our new VMware vCloud service provider ecosystem is designed to help customers find a service provider to work with, and to quickly transfer workloads and data to a public cloud based on a consistent and reliable technology stack," said Mathew Lodge, senior director, cloud services, VMware. "By offering a public cloud test drive, partners like Virtacore can make public cloud services attractive and approachable to VMware customers." Launched at VMworld 2011, the Company noted that the online destination will help customers begin extending their virtualized datacenters to the hybrid cloud. Customers can manage and scale their private and public cloud initiatives using common technology based on VMware vSphere and VMware vCloud Director, moving workloads, templates and virtual machines across a hybrid cloud. Virtacore reported that it offers their customers both private cloud and public VMware vCloud Powered cloud services that are managed through their proprietary Unified Management Portal. Beginning in Q4 2011, the portal will enable seamless data migration between public, private and on-premise VMware instances utilizing the VMware vCloud Connector 1.5 Web client.
