Atlassian Named a "Best Place to Work For" in Australia

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sydney, NSW (PRWEB) July 07, 2011 Atlassian, a leader in software tools for streamlining product development and collaboration, today announced that the company has won a spot in the best 5 companies to work for in Australia 2011 by Great Place to Work® Institute, whose employee survey, culture assessment tools, research and advisory services have made them leaders in helping organizations build high-trust workplaces.

“We are once again honored to be named one of the ‘best’ in Australia, following our recognition in America last year,” said Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-founder and CEO at Atlassian. “Of all the awards and lists a company can be cited on, the Great Place to Work Institute’s lists mean so much since they are a direct reflection of our success in building a positive, productive and innovative employee culture.” The Great Place to Work Institute’s assessment measures how much employees trust their organization, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with.

IT companies dominated this year’s Australian survey, taking the top 20 spots in the list of 50 organizations. Google took the top spot, with second place in the survey going to search engine optimization specialist E-Web Marketing, followed by data storage firm NetApp Australia, Juniper Networks Australia and Atlassian.

In order to choose the honorees, Great Place to Work Institute surveys employees to determine specifics about their experiences in the workplace, and assesses company culture by asking management about practices and programs which are offered to employees. The Best Companies to Work For are then identified and used as an outstanding example and benchmark to illustrate what great workplaces do differently.

About Great Place to Work Institute Great Place to Work Institute is a research and management consultant group that makes an annual survey (in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management) of businesses ranging from the smallest mom-and-pop operations to mega-corporations.
