Touch Controller Eyes High-Volume Markets(Mobile Development and Design Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MD&D News Staff Targeting the high-volume, 2.8- to 3.5-in. touchscreen market, the maXTouch mXT112E touchscreen controller from Atmel enables true single-layer touchscreens, which yields thinner, lighter, and brighter screens. The device integrates signal-processing algorithms to minimize noise from LCDs, the environment, and interference from aftermarket chargers. It allows up to four simultaneous touches and, similar to other maXTouch E devices, touch-processing technology rejects unintentional contacts. It also supports a narrow passive stylus input even while the user’s hand is resting on the screen. Other features include a report rate up to 250 Hz.
