Caringo Adds Cloud Storage Expert to Head Marketing Efforts


AUSTIN, Texas --(Business Wire)--

In a move to expand the company's lead in the object storage and private cloud storage software space, Caringo, Inc., today announced it has appointed Adrian J. Herrera as Senior Director, Marketing. Herrera is an accomplished executive with experience in bringing innovative software and services to market.

He most recently headed marketing and was on the founding team at Nirvanix (News - Alert), one of the first cloud storage services. He was responsible for closing the company's initial customers and during his tenure the company grew from the pre-funding stage to over 700 customers. Prior to Nirvanix he served as Director of Business Development at a consumer cloud storage service, where he defined and executed the company's B2B web services strategy securing deals with AMD (News - Alert), Checkpoint, C-Span, Discovery and Sprint. Herrera was also one of the initial employees at Musicmatch, a digital audio player and music service, which was acquired by Yahoo. He helped both organizations define and execute their OEM and distribution strategy holding various positions in business development and product management. Prior to Musicmatch he was at Xing Technology, an early audio/video encoding and streaming company where he heled define and execute the company's MP3 strategy. Herrera has an MBA from San Diego State University specializing in Entrepreneurship and a BS in Information Systems from Chapman University.
