Acme Portable Machines Highlights Partners' Solutions for Live Broadcast, Film Production, and Digital Content Creation at NAB 2011

Apr 13, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Acme Portable Machines Inc, a provider of rugged portable computers, announced it is showcasing several platforms designed to provide a mobile and portable workstation or server platform for live broadcast, digital content creation, digital cinema and film production workflow.

The company said the ruggedized platforms provide flexibility and mobility for production, defense and broadcast professionals - in studio or on location - to extend and enhance workflow and provide solutions to create content in any production environment, the Company noted.

Partners participating at NAB are Kulabyte, NLE Systems and Visible Light who are showcasing their latest solutions in conjunction with Acme Portable platform.

According to a release, Kulabyte develops and sells professional live video encoding and streaming software, servers and portable systems into the commercial, broadcast and military mobile and network center application markets for web, mobile, and point-to-point delivery. Kulabyte will be demonstrating its new XStreamLive 3 software on the Acme Comrade 550, Kulabyte's XStreamCast Traveler.

With XStreamLive 3 software running on the Acme Comrade, broadcasters now have a portable encoding system capable of accepting 4 professional quality baseband inputs each with up to 8 different bitrate output streams from a compact workstation, the Company said. When combined with Kulabyte's cloud-based Hyperstream encoding, broadcasters can deliver the multiple formats and bit rates needed for every playback device without the additional uplink requirement for those streams.

"Our partnership with Acme Portable Machines demonstrates the flexibility of Kulabyte's XStreamLive software approach by packaging the industry's leading live video encoding and streaming software on the industry's best rugged portable workstation. XStreamCast Traveler is a powerful combination for video professionals," said Peter Forman, CEO of Kulabyte.

Kulabyte, NLE systems and Visible Light offer broadcasters, digital content creators and digital cinema professional's flexibility in their workflows by providing total solution mobility and rugged portability that Acme has been known for.

"Acme has had long standing relationships with its partners and will continue to provide the high quality, reliability and technology in portability that Acme products are known for," said Martin Yen, Vice President of Acme Portable Machines, Inc.
